I began studying at UPEI at age 23, still unsure of what my major would be or what I wanted to do with my life. Looking back fondly on those years, I realize what a supportive environment I was surrounded by, and how each of my professors made a positive mark on my future. I decided to major in Psychology, and do an honours thesis, which I have never regretted for a moment. As it turned out, I was the first UPEI student to graduate with a minor in Spanish, with the help of Dr. Doreley Coll. However, the greatest accomplishment of all was giving birth to my first child, just a week after writing my final exams in fourth year. I will always be grateful to the UPEI community for supporting me through such a challenging time. Now, eight years later, I am working in Student Services as an International Student Advisor, where I hope to extend the same spirit of service to our students from around the world.
