I am a second year Nursing student at UPEI, and I am having the most amazing experiences here. Being a part of a smaller faculty has given me the opportunity to meet many amazing people from my year, other years, as well as in the local community and across Canada. Within the School of Nursing I am a part of the Association of Nursing Students. As a group we organize activities that get nursing students involved in the community, such as participating in the Relay for Life, and our community BINGO fundraiser. This gives us the chance for the community to meet us, and vice versa. I am also involved with the Canadian Nursing Students Association which has thus far given me the chance to meet students from all across Canada, through traveling to NS, QC, and ON next year, all for conferences. Next year I will also be traveling to the United States to complete a clinical term. From my experiences it is easy to see that the UPEI School of Nursing is a prime example of community involvement.
