Despite several years working at the Institute of Island Studies at UPEI, I didn’t realize until I started the Master of Arts in Island Studies program how much islands factored into my life. Because of UPEI, I’ve experienced such islands as Iceland, the Faroes, Aland, the Isle of Man, Newfoundland, Cape Breton Island, Japan, and Maui - learning about what makes islands - and their people - so special. Next in my sights: a PhD in Tasmania. And I couldn’t have done any of it without UPEIsland!
